“Went on a dive with Joel on Saturday, he was the best guide I have had so far. I will definitely be giving him a call again when I come back to dive La Jolla. He took so much time to explain things and was in no hurry whatsoever to be done with the dive. And for probably just enough money to cover his gas, he went and picked up and dropped off my rental gear, which was pretty far inland. that was a huge help for me. i felt very safe with him as my guide since he knew which places were safe for me to dive that day, given my limited experience diving. he even took it upon himself to setup my gear for me since this was a guided dive. that was pretty cool. and he knew about all the local marine species, and made sure i knew to be safe from the poisonous ones. “Joel is one of the best and is the most knowledgeable guides I have ever had. He has done over 5,000 dives in La Jolla and it shows. He gave an extremely thorough briefing and was able to educate us on the conditions in San Diego, a new dive location for us. Underwater, he was calm and attentive and captured some nice video of us. I am a divemaster and brother was returning to diving after a 10-year hiatus, and Joel was able to manage the dive so that it was fun and safe for both of us. I can’t wait to dive with him again!
